I thought about you today

I was sitting alone with a coffee mug pressed to my lips.
The way the mug felt warm against my lips, made me think of you.
The way your lips warmed my soul.
I can see it now.
Your arms wrapped around me.
Your cologne would find its way to my nose.
I was safe.
Tears form in my eyes.
I remember the feeling of your eyes on me.
The way your body felt on top of mine.
The way your hands would feel my thighs.
There are chills where your hands used to trace patterns.
How I miss those hands.
The hole in my heart tears deeper
As I think about the way your bare chest felt against mine.
The feeling of warmth and beating hearts.
You felt so good.
I close my eyes as another memory comes to the surface.
The way you smiled as you climbed over to me.
I knew what that smile meant.
Oh, Baby.
I’d scream your name.
As you pumped your hips into me.
You kissed my cheek,
as you met my core harder than before.
You would let out a moan.
When I let, my fingers dig into your back.
Oh, Baby
I throw back my head as I remember your lips
They were soft and cool
They tasted of mint
My blood boils at the memory
I can taste you now.
Your beautiful face so close to mine
Your eyes staring into mine.
I smile at the memory.
Then I remember,
 we were doomed.
Your warmth is gone.
I stare at the phone hoping to see your name.
All I can hear is the silence
It’s deafening
How did we do this so wrong?
I open my eyes and look at the table
The tears fall freely now
My head falls into my hands
I just miss you.
