And Then She Was Gone

And Then She Was Gone
She got tired of trying to lead you to the promise land
Checking off the boxes that made her your biggest fan
Truth is maybe in a day, a week, a month or even a year
You’re going to wish to see her, hear from her, hold her near
But she shut that door, turned the locks, and threw away the key
You will realize she was flying high and you missed it, as you travel the same ground, wanting on something new to see
Ha. But you waited too long
She tossed a smile back at you as she left, and now she is gone
No she is not full of herself
But she is something different, once in a lifetime, her deepness is a well of wealth

See she didn’t need you
She wanted you

And that was special
Licking her lips, raising her hips, she was both an angel and a devil
A bad wolf, embracing Red Riding Hood
Both a sinner, and destined for sainthood
She grew tired of your apathy
So she cast her own spell of protection, witchcraft you see
She was there and now she is gone
