Just a Glance Away
Side by side on this crooked, wooden bench
Yet miles apart from each other
I feel her prensence leaving me at ease
So close yet so far
I could speak up, grab her attention
Let her know I'm still here
That I don't plan on turning my back on her
That she doesn't have to be alone.
Her smile is like pure light
But I'm trapped within this neverending dusk
I've seen it, a time or two
But I'm too nervous to gaze upon it this time
Hours passed,
Days turned to weeks,
Weeks went into months,
And finally years.
She walked away gracefully before I ever did,
I still remember her walking into the distance
Like the sunset engulfed her being
Her memory turned my world into another direction,
To chaos and curiousity
But she still remained ever so elegant
And silent.
How I begged for words to emerge.
But not a sound came out.
Something always pulls me back to that day
The day when I could've said something,
But remained cowardice.
And to think,
She was just a glance away.
Yet miles apart from each other
I feel her prensence leaving me at ease
So close yet so far
I could speak up, grab her attention
Let her know I'm still here
That I don't plan on turning my back on her
That she doesn't have to be alone.
Her smile is like pure light
But I'm trapped within this neverending dusk
I've seen it, a time or two
But I'm too nervous to gaze upon it this time
Hours passed,

And finally years.
She walked away gracefully before I ever did,
I still remember her walking into the distance
Like the sunset engulfed her being
Her memory turned my world into another direction,

But she still remained ever so elegant
