The Memory of Your Taste
Your memories stay with me
The warm summer nights
The sand between our toes
Your face in firelight
Wearing no clothes
Burning hotdogs, eating graham crackers
Toasting marshmallows
Making Smores
All the moments of our life,
Without waver, I see crystal clear
Our winter days at the sea
Waves splashing on the beach
Bracing cold of offshore breeze
Reddening our cheeks
The wet tides and the driftwood fire
Drying our feet
Life was like the kites we’d fly
Moving, dipping, forever changing
But our teasing, laughing, our sexy play
Were just sandy footprints on the shore
Our life writing in the sand
Briefly seen, before the tide came in
But, I will hold your memory forever
And I will not let time take you away
I will always remember your body
Laying naked next to me
Watching the eagle’s nest
Smothering me with your kisses
Burying me with your arms
Running your fingers along my chest
We were covered in blankets
When you put your mouth on mine
I will remember your flavor
My tongue tasting your breast
The rise and fall of your belly
Your little gasps of breath
Your wispy of strands of hair
Brushing my face, touching my neck
I feel your essence
You're alive, and awake, inside of me
In the deepest depth of soul
Your presence, your arms around me
And I will not let that feeling go
Even in death
So let death try its best, to take memory
But, I will not let your feeling go
I will hold forever
To your hair against my face
To the feeling of your motion
Holding on forever, to the sensation of your taste
