Strangers
I grieve with you, my darling.
Your life is coming to a dead stop.
You used to be nothing but a starling
In the sunlight. All I can do is plop
And sit by your side, holding your
Hand through it all. My tears drop
And drip down. I never knew you before
This very moment when we are just
Strangers to one another. The door
To heaven is opening. You are thrusted
Into the bathing light, welcoming you
With open arms. You will combust
And be reborn again through
Stardust and ashes. Your life is far from
Over because you still have your blue sky.
