The Rainbow Widow
There once lived an old woman who lived at the top of a hill.
Whom dressed in the brightest colors of gold.
Oh wondrous maiden! the people cried.
She was dressed in royal blue, the brightest red, and the most beautiful shades of purple, green, and gold.
Her eyes a bright indigo.
Such a grand perfection, no one saw.
How dull those colors became.
No one saw the black veil hidden behind the rainbow coat.
And one beautiful night.
When the moon shone.
The lady removed her coat, and beneath lied a black lace dress.
The lady was no rainbow, just a lonely soul.
She looked down from the top of her cliff.
The indigo tears rolling off her cheeks staining the ground in blue.
" I wonder..." she said.
" If this is tall enough?"
Within the blink of in an eye the rainbow widow had fallen into the cold waters.
This is the story of the rainbow widow.
The woman who lost her husband a day before.
And the woman whom only dressed in the brightest red, the shiniest gold, The most beautiful green, and the most royal of blues.
Whom dressed in the brightest colors of gold.
Oh wondrous maiden! the people cried.
