Scared
A beautiful relationship with possible new beginnings.
That has burdens and insecurities that can lead to destruction.
A girl longing for someone to love her.
A guy longing for success and stability.
Two people longing for their dream while facing harsh reality.
She wants money, marriage, kids, and more.
Money is his motivation, marriage is a maybe, and kids, well he's been there before.
Two strong personalities meant to make a bond.
But fears he may turn his back for a blond.
While she worries about being his only lover.
He worries about her age being more than just a number.
She balances him out as he does to her.
But there's always something about one that differs.
Should she leave him for another?
Because its obvious she's not his permanant lover.
She's mad, restless, and out of thought.
Because now she realizes she was everyone's default.
Insecurities get the best of her.
Now she feels everyone is better than her.
Maybe she should stop living in a fairy tale world.
Not every man she meets wants her to be his girl.
Love herself first then she'll receive the love she wants.
She'll know what she truly desires.
Once she makes it through the wire.
Maybe he does love her.
Maybe he does care.
But there's always a question mark in the air.
So until otherwise, she'll always remain scared.

The author encourages honest critique.
Firstly, I like the poem and can relate to many of the feelings, though I never liked blondes and the line "Money is his motivation, marriage is a maybe, and kids, well he's been there before." is not something I would want to relate to. But one thing I believe in is that no one should ever leave someone they have loved for another, even if the relationship is fizzling out. I think it must be ended for many reasons before starting a new relationship. I think if you leave someone for another, you place a burden on the new relationship to replace the old one and that burden causes those relationships to pail in comparison and fail even more miserably than the first. No man wants to constantly be compared to another, even if you don't say it, it shows. These guys often become referred to as transition men. They ultimately wind up being the one that got you over the other and allowed you to move on to what often becomes the ONE. So if you must leave a love for someone new, keep in mind that it likely will not last. Just keep your eyes open because that's when your true love will step into your life when you least expect it.
