Image for the poem too many mysteries

too many mysteries

too many mysteries
surround you
one day i'll look up
and there you are
mischievous eyes
dark brown jewels
that captivize
tantalize and mesmerize

where is this
cat and mouse game
taking me
why draw me near
just to push me away
your true purpose
escapes me

i wonder who you
really are as
your lips press
against my skin
with you i can't win
you won't let me in
no, there's just
no getting in
