Outsider

So long through life hiding,
Running from what's in the light.
Maybe in the shadows,
All that is wrong will be alright.
No place feels quite like home,
And no one feels quite like a friend.
Most people make you feel alone,
And that's a wound that's hard to mend.
Just keep pushing through,
Tell yourself it's not for long,
Hide the ugliness in you,
Your life depends on staying strong.
There just has to be
A place where all this fucking wrong,
Will fade into Peace
And someplace where we might belong.
It's been so long, though,
And nothing really makes you feel
Like there might be a shining light
To drown the Darkness that's concealed.
Everybody hides themselves,
They fear that they arent good enough,
Painting smiles on their faces,
Conforming just to get some love.
Who is anyone to judge?
We all have ugliness we hide.
We all have things we've buried deep
That eat away at us inside.
We shouldnt feel the way we do,
Like we should hide what's in our souls.
Each one of us has good and bad
And both are halves of full control.
So long through life hiding,
Running from what's in the light.
All because we're just too scared
To bring what's inside into sight.
From now on I will not run,
Or hide what's truly inside me.
I think you should do the same,
We cant enjoy a life hiding.
Dare to be what's in your blood,
As warm or wicked as it may be,
You owe it to yourself
To live this one life naturally.
