Locked away from love

You don't have the time or patience in your life, a relationship has no relevance.
It's just time killed that won't go anywhere, you have seen the evidence.
You have given love a chance a time or two with a different face and different name.
You put the effort in but the outcome was the same.
So now you focus on your money and family.
You get lonely but your heart is at peace.
You have 99 problems but somebody's whereabouts ain't one.
Being alone is no fun but you refuse to give another loaded gun.
You have been killed on the inside too many times.
Then they walk away unpunished for the crime.
Now you are living a sentence but you were never guilty.
You are a victim of circumstance dealing with a pain that will never leave just ease.
Cupid may have an arrow but your heart has been hardened.
Your mind has your heart under lock and key like a warden.
You long for a true love to give your heart a pardon.
But with so much pain and hurt you are scared to have visitation.
It's confusing how people can lessen what should be so amazing.
