Darling Lights

Will i ever put it in words,
why i am so obsessed with the stars in our sky,
Or why i've fallen so hard for you;

I've always believed in wishes.
I'd wish to be dancing in endless space,
with the stars that've been so distant,
but yet, remained so bright so that i may see them.
These stars, so lost in their own,
that their lights stretch towards our shores.

Do they hurt?
The way thier fire burns?
the stars are so far away,
so mysterious to us all.
Even still, it captivates us,
Shoots us to the skies.
do the stars need to be opened?
to be rekindled?
like a billion embers drifting through.

do those tears create new life?
or is it the tears that crave their home,
to miss the beautiful heights from which they fell.
that feeling is the sorrow in us all.
but every tear has a purpose,
and with every struggle comes perseverance.

On the night those flawless tears
left the space in your eyes,
i looked up to the sky,
i saw them falling.
Upon a wish i dreampt,
of finding the meaning of this light.

I couldn't let your ember go.
as it burned through my chest,
i found my way towards the beautiful light.
when i got close, i could see
that you shine brighter than any light.
as you offered your hand,
you pull me up to the heavens.

we fell in love,
glowing like our wishes.
we'll drift through time,
interlocked, forever in our own motion.
for this endless space can always use your light.
