SANCTUARY OF OUR LADY OF LOURDES
(a villanelle)
[font=Lucida Sans Unicode,Lucida Grande]Long on the pilgrim’s road becoming lost,
This wayward soul a sanctuary crave.
You bring your healing waters without cost.
My life with every step did hope exhaust,
With every path, precedings to the grave.
Long on the pilgrim’s road becoming lost.
The visions sought have left believings crossed,
The love and hope of you my soul’s faith save.
You bring your healing waters without cost.
With water from your deep pools, body glossed,
In true release my offerings I gave.
Long on the pilgrim’s road becoming lost.
To you, my body in your grottoes tossed,
Did I both bow and rise, with your praise rave.
You bring your healing waters without cost.
It’s in these caves, like holy flowers blossed,
You wash away my worldly lusts’ deprave.
Long on the pilgrim’s road becoming lost,
You bring your healing waters without cost.
