LOVE AND PAIN

we fight hard and love harder
and yet no matter how much we fight
i can't imagine me without you
you who define me
without you i become an empty shell
no purpose or direction
so when i say i hate you
how could i possibly mean it?
i hate you because i love you so much
when you hurt me my heart actually bleeds
and i hate how much power you have over me
the scariest thought i ever had
realizing that if i had to
i would die for you and i wouldn't be able to stop myself
so when i say i hate you
how could i possibly mean it?
when me without you is equal to zero
and me with you is an everyday holiday
even in the war times in our own Baghdad
i wouldn't trade it for Paris with anyone else
so when i say i hate you
its because i know you could end me
but how could i possibly hate you?
could the moon hate the sun?
how could i hate you when you make me shine?
and when i do better its because of you
so how could i hate you?
the love of my life
the more you hurt me the happier i feel when the good times roll by
so although i know i should hate you
