Hearts blended in sweet synchronicity...

Beats strum in tandem,
and love's sweet rhythm
lulls two hearts into
a dream of happiness.

Emotions cascade in a
symphony of serenity.
Bathing us in sweet euphoria,
and inciting permeating bliss.

But...

Misplaced vanity bares
it's folly over time,
in assuming that reciprocity
was warranted.

No matter how much love
may want to bloom, it has
no chance if the roots
haven't a place to grasp.

Silver tongues spewing
coiled conundrums in the
guise of poetry; slithering
their way into your very core.

Malignance warps your perception,
welcomed manipulations twist
your ideals of adoration to the
point of ignorance.

You can not only smell the roses,
but actually can feel them...
and it is at this deviation from sanity
that you water the dead roots, frolic in
the toxic pollen, and bloody your
hands upon the fetid thorns;
all the while thinking, that this flower
is for you and you alone...
