If Not Offensive, Then Beneficial
I spend a lot of time thinking about how our parents become who they are,
If you ask them, i'd say 80% of the time, you'll get an answer that consists of, "im not who i want to be," or, the famous "Nobodies perfect" comment.
without the image of them, to you, be tainted in anyway.
We aren't suppose to know that parents are actually human beings with feelings, until they are allowed to feel them again, instead of molding they're spawnling's feelings.
Hopefully by that time, they remember how to have wants, instead of needs. Desires instead of obligations.
I know one thing for certain we didn't come out of the womb alcoholics with severe mood swings, and a irrational sense of our surroundings with equivalent reactions.
I thought of a concept today, and it kinda got my head going. Please assist;
I had this statement my brain conjured up, "Our world is as big as what we make it. Period." Please Persist.
Over analyzing this quote, I think this adaption of it is also true;
"We are what makes up OUR world" ( the "..OUR.." is capped because its subjective)
then started creating this 1-10 rating system. I like lists.
1 being the racist, sexist redneck in the woods, & 10 like being multi-lingual, culturally conscious, diplomat, etc.
But i felt I was being ridiculous, like offensive, and judgmental and what not,
so I got rid of that numeric thing, because that's just another tool for people to judge other people with.
At the same time, its not intended to judge, its intended to assist with self-diagnosis & awareness.
~PREFACE COMPLETE~
thinking thru that quote a lot of things came to light.
Its really hard to get into specifics, because each person is different,
but I think most of the mental anguish we go through in life is brought on by ourselves, probably not what/who initially sparked it, but that's not the majority of life, & eventually no matter what influences we had as kids it falls on us as an individual,
but the flame burns from our fuel.
That fuel has to come from somewhere, and I think it comes from other aspects of who we are subconsciously,
like a built in defense mechanism our brains initiate subconsciously, similar to when too intense of a pain occurs & we black out.
It is possible.
This mechanism causes us to change our personalities in ways we are unaware of,
not the common traits like maturity, responsibilities, etc.
but the shit that everyone struggles with on the daily.
like depression/cockiness for no reason, energy/laziness, innovation, & everything that comes with those pillars of negativity, I think all of these issues stem from the same place, and its the horizons we can see, or choose to see.
"Our world is as big as what we make it. Period." & "We are what makes up OUR world"
I think these 2 quotes can be applied to an endless amount of reasoning for situations that anyone without the right tools can make there own connections with.
Sometimes where we are mentally we can be ill-equipped to arrive at a solution, if all we can see is the problem.
If our mentalities were a geographical landscape,
you cant find too many palm trees up north.
If we can accomplish any self-reflection, it takes a burden off the people that care about us, it benefits us, and could cause one of the scathes of life, not to scar.
P.S.- Apologize for the horrendous structure, readers (if there are any).
