Hollywood and the New Feudalism

During the Dark Ages thru the Middle Ages
The moneyed class were free to do as they pleased,
While all the poor peasants were expected to wait on them,
Basically sacrificing their desires for the sake of their masters.

The successes of the land-owning class was as close
to real freedom that the dirt-poor serfs ever got.
The serfs had to live vicariously thru the rich dukes and earls and barons,etc
who ruled over them.and used them.

Likewise today, the masses live their boring little lives
in which something spectacular rarely happens, if ever.
But they have the "privilege" of living thru the characters in the movies they see.
It's as if movie stars are the new royalty, their audiences the new serfs.
The peasants also get to serve by following their photogenic idols
in tabloid magazines and on web sites like YouTube and Facebook.

Even though Movie plots are totally artificial, make-believe,
there is a whole class of people so naive, so ignorant, that
they LIVE FOR the chance to watch actors playing millionaires, killers, etc,
Totally oblivious to the fact that it is THEY, the audiences, that are the REAL people,
Not the Hollywood images-on-a-screen that they bow down to and worship.
