Tears of the ocean (Selkie)
Standing upon a barren beach
watching waters flow from where she was born
Not shackled, yet no longer free
Bare human feet standing in the sands of defeat
The briny breeze frees murmuring memories
Speckles of sparkling sunlight longing
gently kissing the waves of belonging
The soft silken skin of her true form
taken and torn now no longer worn
Only the salty tears of her sorrow
can return to the salt of the endless sea
blending forever with the ocean's majesty
yet never again shall she
watching waters flow from where she was born
Not shackled, yet no longer free
Bare human feet standing in the sands of defeat
The briny breeze frees murmuring memories
Speckles of sparkling sunlight longing
gently kissing the waves of belonging
The soft silken skin of her true form
taken and torn now no longer worn
Only the salty tears of her sorrow
can return to the salt of the endless sea
blending forever with the ocean's majesty
yet never again shall she
