How Will You Answer?

Judgment should be reserved for only the Lord above
The stares of hypocritical snobs cut like a sharpened knife
Who are these phony charletons who try to damn my soul
You can see their disgust apparent in their beady, blank eyes
Placing themselves on a pedestal that looks down on us all
No matter the stigma or stereotype surrounding your journey
There will always be ignorant onlookers who offer their unwanted opinions
A battered woman either deserves the punishment, or glorifies in it
Reality speaks of the torment she endures and terrified every day
A youth who slices tender folds of flesh is sick and demented in thinking
The actuality is that this troubled youngster has been abandoned repeatedly
A person gripped in the clutches of debilitating addiction
Is seen as a failure, a waste of precious life, locked in a self-imposed prison
Truth of matters reveal a lost child searching to fill the void
These examples speak of only a few of many preconceived notions
Those condemning glances of facades posing authentically
Are going to be the individuals who have to answer at the Throne
When disapproving whispers try to disparage my psyche
I look to the heavens and know that it's all part of His test
It puts me at ease, realizing that when God asks
Why I tried to take over His task of judgment
I know my answer will be that I never looked down on His children.
