The Pharaohs of Egypt
Bring a little hope
Into my gunmetal skies, the sun is grotesque
With a lopsided grimace
All the land is dark
The trees are as the Pharaohs of Egypt
Blackened and smiling
You are the stars
Burning brightly, radioactive
Dangerous if you go out
I want to touch
The little hollow valley of your throat
It can be healing
Or it is searing
Sizzling, just another gallon of gasoline
For the skin
It smells like shit
As you pour, careful and precise as hummingbirds
I splutter, but hold still
Into my gunmetal skies, the sun is grotesque
With a lopsided grimace
All the land is dark
The trees are as the Pharaohs of Egypt
Blackened and smiling
You are the stars
Burning brightly, radioactive
Dangerous if you go out
I want to touch
The little hollow valley of your throat
It can be healing
Or it is searing
Sizzling, just another gallon of gasoline
For the skin
It smells like shit
As you pour, careful and precise as hummingbirds
I splutter, but hold still
