ain't a lifeguard here
I ran round the pool's edges not knowing I could fall
As if the probability of it being a trap didn't exist at all,
As if it were surrounded by walls no one could mount
As if I were god on his holy mountain.
One toe dove in and the rest of me followed
Fresh from the abyss and already been swallowed
Choking on words, they sound so hollow now
Knocked down but not stuck underground
Drying off, taking a nap during the aftermath
Seize up, memory triggered a massive attack
It's a flashback and I know that
All my treatments been half assed
Look back and I can't laugh
Lungs filled full with mustard gas
All my words rasp and I can't hear em
Now at long last I rest on the serum.
As if the probability of it being a trap didn't exist at all,
As if it were surrounded by walls no one could mount
As if I were god on his holy mountain.
One toe dove in and the rest of me followed
Fresh from the abyss and already been swallowed
Choking on words, they sound so hollow now
Knocked down but not stuck underground
Drying off, taking a nap during the aftermath
Seize up, memory triggered a massive attack
It's a flashback and I know that
All my treatments been half assed
Look back and I can't laugh
Lungs filled full with mustard gas
All my words rasp and I can't hear em
Now at long last I rest on the serum.
