DEAD WORDS

In madness besieged terror, convulsing
Nightmares made flesh make their stain on the serene
And in this spontaneous awakening from the daydream
I will writhe in the songs of morning birds
Yet here I stand at the funeral of my past self
At the behest of internal demons
Externally devoid

Nothing is the same
Dead words speak my name
Spectrophobic, look away

Imprisoned
My perdition
The sleeper
I wait forever

Swept into the darkest hour
This hope leaves you withered
A tall glass and pinot noir
You were the smallest of the litter
I’ll bring you solace
I’ll grant you sleep
Shrouded by your hate of self
Your inhibitions abandon you
And all that’s left is me

In belligerent dysphoria, reeling
Staunch friends will never leave the cage
Walking in trunked archways
A forest like lethe
Forgetting why I am here
Under the serpentine branches, eyes closed
Awaiting the light that will guide me
But there is nothing
But unbridled greed

Carmine irides glisten
The sweat of fever, and the need
Hearkening the white noise
Blank face for a passion freed
From my steps, redirected
Lust borne of stomach throes
The call of death, sedating the will
With foul seeds that I’ll sow

Just one time
Let me in

Swept into the darkest hour
This hope leaves you withered
A tall glass and pinot noir
You were the smallest of the litter
I’ll bring you solace
I’ll grant you sleep
Shrouded by your hate of self
Your inhibitions abandon you
And all that’s left is me

When the cold pervades and dusk bleeds the sky
I am the thirst
Your god is a lie and the devil I did bleed dry
I am the night
Through black windowpanes and captured souls
Stared into the abyss, my optic chasm
And crimson covers the ground where you stand
Ghost flowers plucked for this lament thine
Devoured by what your lust entwines
Worship me as I wreathe you in my wings
I am the beast

Just one time
Let me in
