My Unfathomable Phantom
My Unfathomable Phantom,
You float before Me,
carried by every flash of light that greets My teared and tired eyes.
Yet, do not despair,
for the sodden heft in My gaze belies that lightness in My step
and the hazy tickle of butterflies that graze like bewool’ed sheep along my bosom’s lining.
My Unfathomable Phantom,
You are dancing with Me,
despite the distance My predicament has put Us in,
for the hours and minutes are surely ticking by,
and shall carry Me to Your side,
to suck and to serve
Your quivering nerves.
Yes, My Siren! Do not despair:
My fleeting ship shall take me there,
and hurriedly dash itself upon the rocks before Your stony abode,
where I shall shed Your clothes with these scissor-like hands
and writhe with You across verboten lands.
Thus, now, promise Me:
together, We shall watch the hourglass sands
deplete themselves grain by grain
and think not of flood nor rain.
You, My Unfathomable Phantom.
You float before Me,
