The Sanctuary
Broken door plasterd in colorful paper
once past the threeshold
opens another world
shutting out reality
Between deep blue walls
candle light reflects
enclosed by incense mist
mingling scents with wood and straw
fading touch of powder and perfume
in the middle of a dozen faces
drawn in black and white
This place the city's noise can't reach
granting shelter from the storm outside
sun of brighter days won't shine
leaving me in dark
with silent emptiness
I've grown to love so much
This is my refuge, my sanctuary
where I want to wither away
once past the threeshold
opens another world
shutting out reality
Between deep blue walls
candle light reflects
enclosed by incense mist
mingling scents with wood and straw
fading touch of powder and perfume
in the middle of a dozen faces
drawn in black and white
This place the city's noise can't reach
granting shelter from the storm outside
sun of brighter days won't shine
leaving me in dark
with silent emptiness
I've grown to love so much
This is my refuge, my sanctuary
where I want to wither away
