NYCTOPHILIA

In February I will return
With a withered rose, phantosmia
To leave you breathless
Idyllic was your emptiness
From which I am magnetized
Like shadows cast upon the snow

Remember me, say my name
That which is picturesque
Can never be undone
Follow me into the trees
Strip the loathe away
Poison me with your stare
Clasped in my hands, mercuric
To blacken the sills of your mind

In February I will return
With a thousand lies, serpentine
To whisper my intent
Cold is the sorrow of yesterday
If only I felt the same
Pledge to me, spoil inside

Remember me, say my name
The vision was resplendent
Fresh the grudge
Toxic sludge of your innocence
Bone narcotic, nyctophillic
Erase the words that you would loose
Exiled you like a martyr from grace
Snapped twig underneath my boot

This life ends with a whisper
When you see the bird of death
A doom will find you alone
Cardinal of broken oaths
In the snow will darken you
