The Distortion of Human Sexuality by the Clergy

Corinthians 7:8 - 9, Now to the unmarried and the Widow's I say: it is good for them to stay unmarried as I do but if they cannot control themselves they should marry for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

This passage has been detrimental to the Catholic church and the Christian religion which has built its justification for celibacy of the clergy and celibacy of the Christian public at large. Paul himself who was not married and I doubt he was celibate. Based on the historical data, customs and writings at the time Paul lived, I would confidently guess that he himself was engaging in homosexual activities which was very common among adult males or paid many visits to the brothels.

Many pastors use this passage to control the sexuality of men and women by denying the natural state of their sexual beings and also suppressing the natural and innate state of their sexual desires and pleasures. Pastors themselves who are married have had premarital sex and many are involved or have been involved in homosexual affairs extramarital affairs, having children outside of their marriages and exhibit the worse kinds of hypocritical sexually immoral behaviors in and outside of the Christian churches. It is no surprise, in fact it is a natural evolutionary progression that the most religious states are number one in pornography usage, the rising STD infection rates, pedophilia, domestic abuse and violence, sodomy, homosexuality, adultery and bestiality. Religion has placed such a harmful stigma on human sexuality that it makes it's members feel a great deal of shame and guilt for engaging in something that comes naturally to them. Too many religious people are afraid and ashamed of communicating their sexual desires and sexual health issues to one another openly which is contributing heavily to the rising STD, and rates of teen and unwanted pregnancies. They refuse to incorporate life saving sex education as part of their regular lives and school curriculum. Often times they play the blame game when it comes to matters of std infections "well I must have gotten it from you because the last person I was with before you never came to me about having any issue down there." Many stay in the shadows and closets about their sexuality for fear of ostracism (exclusion, by general consent, from social acceptance, privileges, friendships).

{"Do you not know that you are Eve? The sentence of God on this sex of your lives in this age. The guilt out of necessity must live too. You are the devil's Gateway. You are the unsealer of the Forbidden tree. You are the first deserter of the Divine Law. You are she who persuaded him whom the devil was not valiant enough to attack. You destroyed so easily God's image, man. On account of your desert even the Son of God had to die." (Terrullian, Christian apologist from Carthage [150-230CE]).}

They themselves who preach sexual morality are first and foremost sexually immoral. Ministers who are ignorant about human sexuality and the nature of sex are not equipped neither educated to speak, preach, or teach on the subject of sex and sexuality. This ignorance which also stems from intolerance and sexual inexperience has led to their demise, loss of trust and confidence in matters of human sexuality.

I recently met a divorced Christian woman after a brief conversation which went pretty well, we exchanged phone numbers. A few hours later after meeting this woman I received a text stating once again that she was divorced and looking for a husband, and she was married to Jesus. My reply was according to the scriptures I cannot marry a divorced woman for I would be committing adultery. She responded by texting lol and I never heard from her again.

This is the problem with passages like the one in Corinthians. The writers at that time did not understand nor were they trying to understand human sexuality. They were more concerned with owning property and controlling the lives of women, the less educated and less fortunate of peoples. The hypocritical nature of these writings, the authors, and those who preach this doctrine are just too incredibly ignorant to praise or agree with.

Pastors, Ministers, Priests, Rabbis and Imams love preaching about human beings having lust in their hearts when it comes to sex and sexuality that is outside the scope of their religious beliefs.

What is lust. Lust is nothing more than having a very strong sexual desire. Lust is not love but it is one of those stimuli that can lead to love.

They are quick to tell their parishioners to control their emotions, when emotions more or less are just complex reactions the body has to certain external stimuli. For example when one is turned on there is an increase in heartrate, the skin becomes flush, the muscles become relaxed, our mouth become wet and our breathing rapidly increases. All of these reactions happen unconsciously and automatically. After the brains process our emotional responses which are driven by the stimuli, our feelings occur. It is only then after this process takes place that we experience love, Fear, anger, and happiness. Essentially our feelings are driven and formed by our emotions. Lust is just another natural emotional response which happens during the sight, smell, and touch stimuli phase of encountering someone of interest. This is how neuroscience differentiate between emotions and feelings.

The distortion of sexuality is not only found in the Christian religion it is also found in the Muslim religion. Muslim imams and men are free to do sexually whatever they wish. Muslim women on the other hand must be sexually pure until they are married. In Islam it is not forbidden for men to have sex. Men can travel abroad and have sex with non-muslims because in Islam non Muslims are seen as not being human, inferior, and it is their divine right to use and abuse those deemed not Muslim, not human. However if a Muslim woman where to have sex outside of marriage, masturbate, commit adultery or have sex with a non-muslim she most likely would be executed by the state or by a member of her family. Sexuality in the Muslim culture is almost non-existent except for a few pockets of groups of individual who are trying their hardest to stem the tide of ignorance.

In Ayaan Hirsi Ali book “Infidel” which was  published in 2006 she speaks of being a young girl in Somalia whom after  the strict instructions of her father as to not let his daughter be  circumcised, her grandmother took her against her parents wishes to be  genitally mutilated. When I think about the joy I get from watching a woman masturbate or from giving cunnilingus pleasure to women, to see how much it pleases them, how much they enjoy receiving head. The way  women bodies dance rhythmically and erotically to the sensations and  sounds of their sweet voices and increasing beating hearts. The moans, screams and release of orgasmic pleasure is something that is special  and magical to observe. To view how much it relaxes them, releasing those  good feeling chemicals. I can’t for one minute imagine that miss Ali  will never feel the pressures of a warm, moist tongue or a Bullet Vibrator pleasuring her clitoris, or to have to ability to experience clitoral  and vaginal orgasms simultaneously. Just knowing that the clitoris is  the female pleasure center, the only orifice residing outside of the  female body that is specifically designed for receiving unlimited  pleasures, I know that female circumcision is about control, dominance, abuse, submission and the devaluation of women in the Islamic religion and Muslim culture. And it makes me angry  and sad for all the women whom has had this procedure done to them.

Sexuality is a complex but its also a very understandable part of our humanity. There is variety in plant lifeforms as well as bird lifeforms, insect lifeforms and animal lifeforms. We can find heterosexual, asexual, bi-sexual and homosexual variety in many insects and mammals which reflects the diversity of sexualities in thousands of species on earth. Scientific biological and DNA studies have already concluded that Sexuality is without a doubt biologically based.

Epigenetic theories of homosexuality
Epigenetic theories of homosexuality concerns the studies of changes in gene expression or cellular phenotype caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence, and their role in the development of homosexuality. Epigenetics examines the set of chemical reactions that switch parts of the genome on and off at strategic times and locations in the organism's life cycle. Instead of affecting the organism's DNA sequence, non-genetic factors cause the organism’s genes to express themselves differently. DNA in the human body is wrapped around histones, which are proteins that package and order DNA into structural units. DNA and histone are covered with chemical tags known as the epigenome, which shapes the physical structure of the genome. It tightly wraps inactive genes on the DNA sequence making those genes unreadable while loosely wrapping active genes making them more expressive. The more tightly wrapped the gene, the less it will be expressed in the organism. These epigenetic tags react to stimuli presented from the outside world. It adjusts specific genes in the genome to respond to humans' rapidly changing environments. The idea of epigenetics and gene expression has been a theory applied to the origins of homosexuality in humans. One team of researchers examined the effects of epi-marks buffering XX fetuses and XY fetuses from certain androgen exposure and used published data on fetal androgen signaling and gene regulation through non-genetic changes in DNA packaging to develop a new model for homosexuality. The researchers found that stronger than average epi-marks, epigenomes that are wrapped tightly around the DNA sequence, convert sexual preference in individuals without altering genitalia or sexual identity.

Epigenetic marks
Epigenetic marks (epi-marks) are temporary "switches" that control how our genes are expressed during gestation and after birth. Moreover, epi-marks are modifications of histone proteins. Epigenetic marks are modifications of the methyl and acetyl groups that bind to DNA histones thereby changing how the proteins function and as a result, alter gene expression. Epi-marks change how the histones function and as a result, influence the way genes are expressed. Epigenetic marks are intended to promote normal sexual development while in fetal development, however, they can be passed on to offspring through the process of mitosis. When they are transferred from one parent to an offspring of the opposite sex, it can contribute to an altered sexual development, thus leading to masculinization of female offspring and feminization of male offspring. However, these epi-marks hold no consistency between individuals in regard to strength and variability.

Twin studies
Identical twins have identical DNA, which leads to the perceived conclusion that all identical twins are either heterosexual or homosexual. However, it is evident that this is not the case, consequently leaving a gap in the explanation for homosexuality. A "gay" gene does not produce homosexuality, rather, epigenetic modifications act as temporary "switches" that regulate how the genes are expressed. Only twenty percent of identical twins are both homosexual which leads to the hypothesis that even though identical twins share the same DNA, homosexuality is created by something else rather than the genes. Epigenetic transformation allows the on and off switching of certain genes, subsequently shaping how cells respond to androgen signaling, which is critical in sexual development. Another example of epigenetic consequences is evident in multiple sclerosis in monozygotic (identical) twins. There are pairs of twins that are discordant with multiple sclerosis and do not both show the trait. After gene testing, it was suggested that DNA was identical and that epigenetic differences contributed to the gene difference between identical twins.

Effects of fetal androgen exposure
While in the fetal stages, hormonal influences of androgen, specifically testosterone, cause feminine qualities in regard to sexual development in females and masculine qualities in males. In typical sexual development, females are exposed to minimal amounts of testosterone, thus feminizing their sexual development, while males are typically exposed to high levels of testosterone, which masculinize their development. Epi-marks play a critical role in this development by acting as a buffer between the fetus and androgen exposure. Moreover, they predominantly protect XY fetuses from androgen underexposure while protecting XX fetuses from androgen overexposure. However, when androgen overexposure happens in XX fetuses, research suggests they can show masculinized behavior in comparison to females who undergo normal levels of androgen exposure. The research also suggests that excess androgen exposure in females led to reduced heterosexual interest in adulthood than did females with normal levels of androgen.

Heritability
New epi-marks are usually produced with each generation, but it is believed that these marks sometimes carry over between generations. Sex-specific epi-marks are produced in early fetal development that protect each sex from the natural disparity in testosterone that occurs during later stages of fetal development. Different epi-marks protect different sex-specific traits from being masculinized or feminized—some affect the genitals, others affect sexual identity, and yet others affect sexual preference. However, when these epi-marks are transmitted across generations from fathers to daughters or mothers to sons, they may cause reversed effects, such as the feminization of some traits in sons and similarly a partial masculinization of daughters. Furthermore, the reversed effects of feminization and masculinization can lead to a reversed sexual preference. For example, sex-specific epi-marks normally prevent female fetuses from being masculinized through exposure of atypically high testosterone, and vice versa for male fetuses. Sex-specific epi-marks that are normally erased and not passed between generations, can lead to an altered sexual preference when they escape erasure and are transferred from a father's genes to a daughter or from a mother's genes to a son.

The bottom line is no one has or should have control over your sexual being. To say that homosexuality is a sin, something that is wrong, forbidden is to deny humanity inclusion in the diversity and variety that is well represented on our world. At one time in our history human beings were ignorant, we did not have the sciences and mathematics we do today. As we move forward into the future we are learning about ourselves. Learning to understand and accept the research and conclusions about our sexuality will make us better as human beings. It will also make us more tolerant towards others that exhibit other varieties of human sexuality. Remember this, one may take advice but one should not let anyone deny, suppress, or supplant their sexuality. Sexuality is biological first and foremost, cultural, and transitions to your personal ideals, habits and choices. It is your natural and biological right to be who you are and who you want to become sexually. Your state of being to partake in sexually what you feel gives you and brings you pleasures. And what you feel comfortable doing in a reciprocal manner. In respect to the sovereignty and autonomy of others, and in accordance with just and fair laws as it pertains to the protection of the rights and safety of others. But as far as yourselves no one, no government and no God who has not shown him or her self to exist and speak in their own words has power over you or your sexual being. It’s very peculiar that it is always people that do all the talking, dispensing rewards and punishments for the Gods and not the Gods themselves making their presence known, heard, and felt to their so called creations.

P.s. I have no doubt that many religious leaders are going to say something about this article at Sunday services and Bible study classes. Many Ministers will probably boast that they are very well experienced in matters of sex while asking their wives to raise their hands and testify that Pastor is the shizzle my nizzle and be bedroom slaying which she will do and very proudly too. But this article is not about sex, it is about sexuality. lol
