Ghost House
whispering they came and haunted her
the gloomy ghosts of sleepless nights
breaking down her marble house
and shattering all her dreams
they haunted her through lonely nights
in desolate sheets and silent shouts
on her bed made of spider webs
where the lost souls dissapear
they haunted her through empty streets
their shadow enveloping her like mist
chasing her through alleys of grey
following the stream of her life
they haunted her through twilight zones
the dimension of surrealistic confusion
like shallow spirits they came to live
whispering nightmares in her ear
they haunted her through endless years
she learned to embrace the darkness
the moon became her companion
and the milky way her asylum
whispering as they came they also left
she now floats into a peaceful world
but still.. you can see her dance
on the dark side of the moon
the gloomy ghosts of sleepless nights
breaking down her marble house
and shattering all her dreams
they haunted her through lonely nights
in desolate sheets and silent shouts
on her bed made of spider webs
where the lost souls dissapear
they haunted her through empty streets
their shadow enveloping her like mist
chasing her through alleys of grey
following the stream of her life
they haunted her through twilight zones
the dimension of surrealistic confusion
like shallow spirits they came to live
whispering nightmares in her ear
they haunted her through endless years
she learned to embrace the darkness
the moon became her companion
and the milky way her asylum
whispering as they came they also left
she now floats into a peaceful world
but still.. you can see her dance
on the dark side of the moon

I was mesmerized with trying to find out what was the fear in the whispers that were hunting you. It read like a lovely suspense excerpt. The imagery was dark, yet beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed!

I like that it's never specifically stated what the haunting voices are whispering. We all hear whispers we need to make peace with, and you allow the reader to put themselves in your poem.

Thank you so much for your comment, this poem means a lot to me :-)
I never thought about the fact that 'whispering' is open for interpretation and allows the reader to put themselves in my poem... very insightful, thanks!

You have an amazing skill at creating almost tangible landscapes with your words. You paint very clear images. :)

This is a very personal piece which took me a long time to write, so it means a lot to me that you describe it as an almost tangible landscape!
Thank you so much!!!

You got me curious... As I don't spot the titles (apart from 'the dark side of the moon') of the songs here...

I'm ordering around only as part of a scene. It's a good poem, and good selection of songs

Thank you so much! My older (first) work doesn't really feel like me anymore, but I'm glad you thought it was a good poem... same goes for the music :-)
Re: Re. Ghost House
Sometimes I have the opposite movement -- rereading an old poem and feeling it more like me. Rereading and editing old stuff is important! I do it all the time - sometimes I even recycle such poems.

Re: Re. Ghost House
I forgot I wanted to comment on this... I understand the opposite movement; there was a time last summer that I was able to write more freestyle/experimental. Those poems feel more like me than my current ones, but I lost that flow (my work is still evolving, so it might come back)
