The Small Things

Who am I?
I am spilled coffee on a notebook full of unfinished poems.
I am a fully charged phone even though no one is calling.
I am insecurities hidden with bravado and shortcomings hidden with strengths.
I am a T-shirt on Christmas Eve.
Rarely long sleeves, always air conditioners, I hate the heat.
I am a TV on to a random station while a girl writes -even though she hates the news -because the silence frightens her.
I am a laptop with 87 tabs and three windows, some of them open for months at a time, because my user refuses to pass on a good story even if she can't read it now.
I am a house full of pets and absent of friends.
I am a blanket covering pale thighs in lieu of pants
I am constant migraines medicine can't fix.
I am the compassion of my father and the wit of my mother
With the creativity of my sister and the curiosity of my brother.
I am self-deprecation just as surely as I am pride,
And I am poetry as much as I am song.

(This all came out of a conversation off one of the forums here, so thank you AEMelia564 for this little spark of inspiration, I owe you one! :) )
