The Sands of Time

The sands of Time
sift out from the
gathered brain coral
And scatter unto the winds of change—
The breezes blow pieces of time
Right across the sky;
So, all that’s left, are
these living stones – memories
of animal life, not so long ago—
About these remnants of coral
lie sea shells of Neptune & Venus,
old abodes of shell fish, whose
spirits have retired & moved on.

The builders build Babylonian towers,
With no foundations,
And no support for several stories,
Shell on coral on rock &
on into the sky, until destined to fall—
No discernible pattern, yet wishes
of height & beauty & greatness,
Until it all slips away, to ground zero.

The problem, is they all rely on
Rocks beneath them, for support,
Yet, when that support slips away, —>
These towers of beauty and dominance
are destined to crumble & fall,
Stone slipping from stone.
With no steel or concrete to hold,
 these mini-skyscrapers
Rely on balance, & lack of
vibration & quakes, to keep them upright.
So, since they are all destined to fall,
The plan of the builders is to
stack these stones with care, as to
accentuate the beauty, grace, & splendor
of each stone, every shell, and all coral,
Before it topples & each building block
slips to the ground level, of the base
foundation —>

Trapped within each stone,
and all the coral & shells,
are the memories of great life
and ultimate symbiosis,
Tropical reefs, comprising memories
and truths, of our primordial
beginnings in the sea, the ocean of life.
Though there are always predators & prey, —>
We can all respect the great cycle of life,
Before we slip unto the ground,
by the sheer power of inevitability.
