Emptiness

Fake a smile
Hold back tears
Run a mile
Forget your fears

Choke yourself out
Die in their arms
Without a doubt
You did no harm

Death and despair
Won't bind you for long
Leave this life, if you dare
You aren't that strong

Don't be a hero
You cannot save us now
You are just a zero
I won't allow

Bad news kills
Good news heals
Emptiness fills
All you can do is kneel

This poem was inspired by my unborn sibling. My mom told me she was pregnant and I was scared. I also wasn't very happy because I was the baby and the last time she got pregnant she had a miscarriage. She got pregnant by the same guy who she had the miscarriage with. I didn't want another younger sibling, but then I decided I missed having a baby to take care of and I could be there for. I have two younger sister who don't necesarrily like being around me because I was so mean to them when we were younger. I wanted to start over so I became excited for this new baby. 2 months went bye. It was Easter Sunday and I called my mom to see where she was. She was very sick an told me she had ben in the hospital for the past week. I had no idea and I asked why she was there. Her exact words were, "Well, no baby anymore." I could tell by her tone of voice that she was upset. I became sad because I wanted a baby in the house and my mom was very excited for this baby also. I wrote this poem shortly after because I was upset. If there hadn't have been a miscarriage, my mom would be about 5 or 6 months pregnant. I really wish that baby was still with my mother. I misplaced this poem and just found it. Thank you for reading, I appreciate it. Have a wonderful day and please, never regret your siblings no matter how much they may aggravate you.
