"Land ah Mine"
In this rugged
Land ah mine
My mind wanders free
As the endless rolling Prairie foothills
Pausing only to gaze upon
Breathtaking beauty of
Northwest Territory scenery
And amongst the mighty
Rocky Mountains
My dreams escape me
And I believe nothing could ever stop me
As I feast upon
Maritime shrimp and cod,
I remember that
My nation is one
Forged from sweat and tears,
where nothing ever came easy,
But where everything is treasured
As genuinely as it is earned.
A nation where those
Born and bred have bled and are
Built strong
By the battered bodies
and
Broken spirits of
Aboriginal ancestors
Abused and desecrated
In
Canada’s Greatest Sin.
Yet this land is where
I run and laugh from
Sea-to-Sea-to-Sea
Without fear or limitations
Because I am free.
Free thanks to the Peacekeepers
Who valiantly and proudly
Stood and Fell,
And who now,
With their final dying breath
Fly the flag that I salute.
There is no other place I would rather be
Then dawning the
Famous colors of my fellow
Royal Canadian Police
While mounted on horseback
Strongly standing guard
With hockey stick in hand
Along Canada’s Shield for thee.
My heart, my soul, my life,
My land, my love, my home
By death do I part
This amazing
Land ah mine
That is
Canada!
Land ah mine
My mind wanders free
As the endless rolling Prairie foothills
Pausing only to gaze upon
