Where Were You

I found him, where frayed words told me to search, at the corner; smoking his last cigarette. A presence all his own he spoke, "Ask me anything..."

Where were you when everything was falling apart, her body already cold. All my tears fallen to the ashes of weeping flowers, where were you.

Too late she's already dead, lifeless, you missed her soul; just another statistic to God's plan, scattered ashes in the wind...right. I will never accept that!

Where were you!! She was found lying there, you watched, didn't you... everyone there pushing me aside. They carried her off, she's gone now; forever. Where were you...

She's dead, she will never return and you did nothing but watch. Their all dead now, thousands upon millions that you...you just watched all of it; did nothing. Where were you when we needed you most.
