Someone Listening
He stands as still as someone listening
For rumours of a wind on listless seas;
And then he notes her lantern; it will bring
Her floating down to him and he will seize
The chance to wrap her in a tight embrace
And hold her for a moment on the stair;
His cheek against her neck and half his face
Well hidden in the silk sails of her hair;
So,he will lift her down and press his lips
To hers: they open as he never thought
They ever would and now her warm hand slips
Around his shoulders, as her love is caught
With every single breath that seems to sing
While he stands still, as someone listening.

Well hidden in the silk sails of her hair;

Around his shoulders, as her love is caught
With every single breath that seems to sing
While he stands still, as someone listening.
