House was a Home

We didn't have a lot to spend
But certainly a lot to share
Even coffee grounds
Never went to waste
In our house
Our house was always a home

On rainy Sundays
It was episode after episode
Always new ideas to try
It was reimagining
A dusty neglected cupboard
Into a craft of sorts

Paper , scissors, glue
Endless amounts of time
And junk drawers
And pie recipes

We never had much to spend
But always plenty to give
On rainy days
we'd invite the world inside
For a warm cup

Time never went to waste
But always plenty to give
In our house
Our house was always a home
