DAY ONE
(a sonnet)
In nothingness and quiet darkness {AUM…}
Particulates in squares of light speed flew
Before we slowed and matter made our home
In quantum soup was still our me and you
In separate journeys found our way to here
A million lifetimes scattered on the way
Apart together, every one unclear
Until today in our joined love’s display
I don’t know why you chose this day to start
What thought convinced to take us in your hands
We were in calm {AUM…’s} darkness both a part
But in your voice, our true hearts’ {AUM…} expands
With greatest gift received, our time’s begun
I rise to heeded call on our Day One
In nothingness and quiet darkness {AUM…}
Particulates in squares of light speed flew
Before we slowed and matter made our home
In quantum soup was still our me and you
In separate journeys found our way to here
A million lifetimes scattered on the way
Apart together, every one unclear
Until today in our joined love’s display
I don’t know why you chose this day to start
What thought convinced to take us in your hands
We were in calm {AUM…’s} darkness both a part
But in your voice, our true hearts’ {AUM…} expands
With greatest gift received, our time’s begun
I rise to heeded call on our Day One
