Audacity. Adj. The daring boldness to defy limitations.
I have the glaring audacity to say I was in love.
I once had the audacity to be irrevocably in love.
It may come again, some rainy day in late July.
I’ll look at my friend eating ice cream
In a park with the rain pouring over us.
I’ll look over and the rain will glimmer off of their hair.
I fall in love too often, and I have the audacity
To fall in love with memories.
Ghosts. Shells of people who once were.
People who have the audacity to cling to my mind.
I will fall in love with a boy I have never spoken to,
If I hear his laugh ring through an empty hallway.
Someone I may have known in a dream will have the audacity
To enter my waking gaze, and perhaps hold a door for me.
And i will fall in love. With a memory.
I daresay I have been in love with countless memories.
Countless ghosts, but one mortal man.
Someone with the audacity to leave me in his dust.
The audacity to let me fall in love with a tangible person,
As opposed to phantoms and ghosts who
I do not love, have not, and will not love.
Memory. N. A sub conscious recollection of intimate
Or otherwise personal details of ones life and their surroundings
