Lost Things [Forgotten]
There's a handful of things misplaced
Eons passed
Driven fast pace
I search under mountains
In vast open skies
Yet overlook the obvious...
What's in front of my own eyes
Hidden in closets
Concealed in closed dresser drawers
The mundane
AND
The familiar
Are key to something more
Fallen from pockets?
Slipped through the grasp?
Lost things forgotten
for boy beneath the mask
I search under mountains
In vast open skies
Looking for Forgotten Things
To re-open my eyes
In the pockets of old jeans
Under the soles of worn-out shoes
In the cracks of sidewalks
Of a time and town once new...
...There be youth
...There be truth
...There be the root
...There be all the misplaced things
of a boy singing the blues
Eons passed
Driven fast pace
I search under mountains
In vast open skies
Yet overlook the obvious...
What's in front of my own eyes
Hidden in closets
Concealed in closed dresser drawers
The mundane
AND
The familiar
Are key to something more
Fallen from pockets?
Slipped through the grasp?
Lost things forgotten
for boy beneath the mask
I search under mountains
In vast open skies
Looking for Forgotten Things
To re-open my eyes
In the pockets of old jeans
Under the soles of worn-out shoes
In the cracks of sidewalks
Of a time and town once new...
...There be youth
...There be truth
...There be the root
...There be all the misplaced things
of a boy singing the blues
