Restless nights 


I can't sleep   
I toss and turn   
Imagining your lips on mine   
Kissing me softly, filled with hunger   
If only it were real, your image   
Your scent, being able to feel your body   
In dreams only, do I sense your delicate breath   
Hear you whispering my name as you control my senses   
I am devoured by carnal thoughts of my own insidious undoing  
Wanting that blinding, pulsing moment of release that you so eagerly give   
You blossom through distance and separation to embrace my desire with open arms   
Willingly losing yourself in my wanton longing, bringing forth a fire that died within   
Yet it blazes once more at the distinct glimpse of you and my unwavering desire   
That I can't seem to want to fight away, each moment we could share in ecstasy   
With dulcet orchestrated melodies, our indulgent lips sing praises upon each others sweat strewn cheeks   
What I would give just to see a simple smile from your handsome face 
My tumultuous pining for your warm touch assails my every impulse with heartache 
Time stands still, in a dream state I wait for your caress 
Blue sorrow is my blanket, sheltering me from your persistent intoxication 
Overwhelming my instincts, I release my control to your whim 
Though you consume me, sleep skirts my cerebral pathways 
Like you're intoxicating me with a hushed lullaby   
Before long your image dissipates into clouds   
And you drift into my dreams 
To return once again 
When sleep beckons
