Words...
She used to read his words
And loved what she saw
They nestled within her soul
They left her craving more
As when she closed her eyes
He was able to transport her
Into a faraway dimension
Where she became a voyeur
And began living life vicariously
Floating across time and space
Feeling each and every word
Brush against her own sweet face
She recognised the characters
The universal themes hit home
She felt he wrote about her life
Even though she was unknown
She felt a real connection
She knew he really understood
She felt he’d got into her head
Like only secret lovers could
And as his words kept coming
Stronger the spell was weaved
Leaving her weak at the knees
Convincing herself to believe
And she craved him so much
The line between them blurred
What was once just a fantasy
Became true reality in her world
So she followed her fragile heart
And persuaded him to meet her
Professed undying love for him
Praying he would simply concur
But he pushed her love away
Because he already loved another
Tried his best to console her
As her face grew dark with thunder
Thinking if she couldn’t have him
Then no one else really should
And left him silently sleeping
In a pool of deep red blood
