How Do You Do It?

How did you find solitude?

Was it hiding amongst the books you read seeking human knowledge?
We have wined and dined with your insecurities and yet you still starved ours.
How is it that the flame spirit in you that honors and nourishes peace is forever gathering itself,
when the fiery flames we had have long stopped burning?
You pray in your distress and in your need,
many lose thyselves in mist of their own thoughts, and yet you wonder with an oil-lamp; the lantern of all lost souls, how do you do it?
All of us,
descendants of Samson,
had our strength pulled from the grasp of our hands,
and yet you stand tall on the heaps of graves of those you’ve slayed.
Oh!
How you’ve become like the moonless night;
calmed and constellated.
Music has become nothing but tuneless sounds to us;
yet you dance with the shadows of those you love,
how do you do it?
