Devil in Heels

You talk about this devil in red,
All the chaos she caused and the lies that she spread.
You tell me how you don’t even know why,
You stayed and you stayed despite every lie.
She beat you with words, she choked you with spite,
She wrecked so much havoc night after night.
She had no compassion, she had no respect.
She turned you life into a bloody train wreck.
Then when it's all over and you walk away,
She calls you and stalks you day after day.
You don't answer the phone in fear it's her call.
And all your requests hit against a brick wall.
She won’t let you see the child that she claims,
By blood or by name is yours all the same.
So wandering stuck in this limbo and lost
You see just how much this relationship cost.
It tears me up to hear all these things that she's done,
I understand how you feel you should run.
But I have not treated you like she did.
I haven't stolen and lied and fucked with your head.
I may not be used to being all that aware
Of another's feelings or having anyone care.
But I feel I have tried to go out of my way
To do my best to get thru each of these days.
In stress and in pain, unsure how you feel.
With little input from you, hardly ideal.
And all I get back is you walking away,
The second that things aren’t going your way.
No need to talk, just make me feel
I was worse to put up with then the devil in heels.
