He sang of Barbara Allen
voice clear as a lute
or glass harmonica,
tuned with cooling wine,
from Cecilia's spring,
perfect pitch and true;
calming like rare tea
drunk in shallow bowls.

i love a good tenor and this perfectly describes his voice. well done!
I sang with Alfred's son Mark who was also a counter-tenor , soloist.The counter tenor is an amazing voice .Alfred Deller was responsible for reviving the technique.Counter tenor's have taken over the tenor solo in Carl Orff''s' Carmina Burana' which I soloed as a tenor which placed a different atmosphere on the part,Being a lower voice at its extreme the interpretation was strenuous ( I believe perhaps what Orff wanted). thankyou for calling

Carmina Burana is one of my absolute favorite pieces! How awesome that you had that experience. I have been in the percussion section several times for that piece.

It was a wonderful experience. The fiirst note I had to sing is difficult to pitch against the orchestral background. I solved the problem by spending the time before performance with a tuning fork, more I believe to overcome nerves, rather than musical benefit !I have not repeated the experience.As part of the percussion you you also have been well stretched.
