Hollow
Feeling hollow
Wanting to wallow
Slowly emptying love's once bountiful cup
Unable to look up
Heart slowly decaying
Little hope of anyone saving
The fires are down to a flicker
Being bound by a briar wicker
Walls closing in
No longer able to win
Numbness prevails
Love seems to be setting its sails
The tide is no longer there
In the dunes no longer wanting to care
Nothing fills the soul
No longer feeling whole
Fearful of the living
The dead are more forgiving
Tired of being twisted and torn apart
Picking up pieces of a broken heart
The walls are rebuilding
Looking to be closing
Shutting off the world
Watching my sanity slowly unfurled
No one will see this task
All they will see is a broken mask.
