Great Purge Of Earth
"Enough!"
Old mother skies
We're bright blue with tears,
Lava blood boils
Unsettling ground
Fit of seizures.
Earthy zits
Become mountainous giants
Screaming smoke
Threatening
Terra Firma home.
At long last sun
Now an array
Scarlett orange dusk
Bows out to night's destruction,
Cities
Swallowed into sinkhole hells
Islands now pages
Of Atlantis's history;
Melt amongst the hubris
In unswimmable seas of magma.
Survival
Only to prolong death
When catapulting volcanic meteors
Quit hurling through
Apocalyptic skies ,
Scariest moment is silence
Before watching the end
When myriads of pyroclastic clouds
Erupt in air
All life suspends.

I wonder if ancient people saw Volcanic activity as how the apocalypse or age of Ragnarok would be....when Hell spills open onto Earth....yet how strange in that death how beautiful that end will be

I would think so, people of ancient times took all sorts of natural occurences of mother nature a sign of whats to come. Im glad you pointed out Pompeii lol that came into mind when I wrote this, I originally wanted to call it Myriads Of Pyroclastic Clouds because one big enough volcano could destroy all civilization and life itself on earth but a whole bunch of volcanoes active at the same time all over the earth for certain death, and im not sure it would be beautiful definitely quick.

I often think of the next cataclysmic event whether it 20 years from now 2000 years, human beings on this planet are nothing but short time guests compared to the life span of Earth. Your descriptions are astounding and beautiful. Superb work
