PINES
Let moon shake on Victoria Lake
For we who seek sleep to wake
Not to part but to adore
The rasp of another's snore
Or pound of another's heart
At morning break
Avoid: losing all to gain small when stepping into a void
Let sun shine white pines on white peaks
As cold light on heavy cliff rock speaks
Hollowly forlorn with hunter's shot
On dawn horizon as crisp as apricot
That holily and yet tenderly
Across the tundra seeks
Avoid: guilt but bow to karma when stepping into a void
Let clouds asunder a-blaze with rays
As dew adieu in champagne haze
As sun's perfection rights lights and darks
So sun alights so moon embarks
For all of life is his reflection
As we wonder at his ways
For we who seek sleep to wake
Not to part but to adore
The rasp of another's snore
Or pound of another's heart
At morning break
Avoid: losing all to gain small when stepping into a void
Let sun shine white pines on white peaks
As cold light on heavy cliff rock speaks
Hollowly forlorn with hunter's shot
On dawn horizon as crisp as apricot
That holily and yet tenderly
Across the tundra seeks
Avoid: guilt but bow to karma when stepping into a void
Let clouds asunder a-blaze with rays
As dew adieu in champagne haze
As sun's perfection rights lights and darks
So sun alights so moon embarks
For all of life is his reflection
As we wonder at his ways
