Set It On Fire

And it happened in an instant
My rage for love became a self destruction
I know what my soul needs to survive
What my heart
needs to keep beating
But is there anyone out there willing to pick up my pieces
Build me up?
Blow open the doors to my love
Then
become its prisoner
I feel bad bc
I knew we'd end self destructing together

We'd probably end up drowning in each other
Suffocated love. Became to much
Then float away from each other with the currents
She'd probably end up on some sandy beach
With other gorgeous souls who barely managed to hold on
And I'd probably end up in the middle of the stream
On a rock
Slowly putting myself back together
I mean it's true, nothing last forever

I mean can you imagine flames of love setting the world on fire?
How quickly it'd burn out?
"They" do say nothing last forever

But I really don't believe it.
I can't.
Why can't the world just stay on fire?
And everyone just live in this hell
As our hearts go up in flames
Even just the thought
Of our love scorching the earth
I know it's driving them insane
I mean Their heads
are on fire
But why can't they just give us our peace

That's the type of love I need to survive
Its the only thing that'll keep my heart from exploding into a million
and one little pieces
And everytime I experience a love artificial to the one I need,
My heart becomes that much closer
To saying
Fuck it
Then BOOM

Maybe
Maybe the love I need does exist
Maybe it doesn't
Maybe I'm bound for self destruction
But with that being said
The type of love I seek will never change
Because it's my energy.
It's my poetry.
It's the fuel to the passion that makes my heart skip a beat in the heat of the moment
But doesn't let it skip
Two
But sometimes it does
Yeah, tragic but that's love
A love that keeps recreating
The type of love that keeps me believing
Believing that I'm not just
A thorn
That's stuck in the world
Cause I'd much rather set it on fire
