Dear Really Cute Girl
Dear really cute girl that sits at the back of the bus who has eyes like falling stars
Hi my name is Renelle and I couldn't help but notice that you are shattering from the inside
like there are atomic bombs going off in your soul
No one seems to notice but then again I can always recognize another broken angel in my presence
Why don't we get away from here
Away from the noise and into the white backdrop
We'll write our names in Stardust and paint Sunrises in the marrow of our bones
We will make kings out of bastards
After all we've been crucified too
Painted on billboards and impaled by men with hands like eyes that destroy everything they come across
You told me I have I eyes like fire bombs
And that we are dying here
Because our beauty is too much for the society we live in
how you like the little things that no one notices
Like my laugh and how it reminds you of womanhood
Or how my eyes ignite the joy in your spirit
And the way I look at you as though I'm seeing something newly discovered
If you had a dime for every time I made you smile you would be rich
Cause your perfume reminds me of possibilities and Sunday mornings
Your hair feels like velvet
And the Heaven in your hello can teach a demon that life is worth living
So when you are grown you will marry a man who looks at you
as though you are made of gemstones
At your wedding I will shed a single tear as i watch you
The future mother of my god children
The godmother of my children
Walk down the aisle and give
All of that beauty
All of that brilliance
To God’s greatest design for you
And if you ever feel alone i am a phone call away
Or write my name on a card and keep it near your heart.
Signed,
Your best friend who loves you dearly
