Our Castle
You throw everything in derange,
Flipping everything upside down.
Do you know that your behavior is strange?
You don’t get to wear the crown
Like you’re the king. I don’t always have to obey
And listen to you.
I try to disregard what you say.
I’m not something you collect and accrue.
This is how things get messed up
And complicated.
It’s time for you to wake up.
You can’t be completely sated
If you’re unhappy and confused.
Get out of that haze and realize
That you’re not completely bruised.
You don’t have control over the skies.
I don’t have control over them either.
Let go of your ego and pride.
It’s okay to take a breather.
Let everything subside.
Your ego shouldn’t be that damaged.
Don’t let anybody tell you can’t be weak.
Everything can be managed.
You can scream from the top of that peak.
You can’t always be the man.
Let me be the man too. I am able
To handle it too. Don’t be a caveman.
Let’s get past that fable.
Don’t be my prince or white horse.
Be my equal and level partner.
Be a strong force.
There’s no need to always be my armor.
I can protect myself just fine.
I need someone to fight alongside me.
Walk with me along the line.
I don’t want you to flee.
Don’t lean on me too much.
I won’t always be around
To be used like a crutch.
We’re bound
To eventually not need each other
But for now I’ll take it all.
The need to smother
Is no longer relevant. The fall
Is no longer worth it.
Everything feels like a puzzle.
Everything fits in bit by bit.
We could always let things frizzle
But that disturbs the pace we set.
I don’t want to lose anything
And I don’t want to lose a bet.
Me and you – we’re both a queen and king.

I can relate to the part where it says "don't lean on me too much..."
I'm soooo dependent on my girlfriend to try to help me, since I'm in a depression, and she's really the only person I talk to,
But she's always busy.
So.
I get angry, not at her, but myself, for being weak. That's why I joined recently, I decided that if I'm writing to get the pain out, why can't I write so others can see and relate too? That way I can find people to connect with :)

Hi. Thank you so much. I write for almost that same reason. I've never personally been in that depression before, but there are some days where I'm close. I write to get out all my feelings and to make that connection. If I'm feeling this way then there must be someone out there who probably feels the same way. I have people I can talk to but I get lonely sometimes and that's why I write (it has become a part of me and who I am). I write everything out, every emotion and every feeling (everything I'm going through). It's my way of coping. I wrote this piece just recently after I was a dealing with a certain person and situation. It's perfectly okay to be weak, but sometimes you need to be strong too. I hope you hang in there and realize it's okay to be feeling the way you're feeling. Just know that you're not alone.
