Conversations With Someone In Love
It's like a hole in your throat,
So that your words can leak out,
Cause good luck trying to talk to her.
She's like your favorite winter coat,
That you wear whenever you're having a bad day or attending the obligatory annual family cookout,
It may violate dress code and it may not even be hot outside but you still want to be with her.
Actually now that I think about it it's kinda like writing poetry,
You mark off all the "mistakes" you made or just little quirky phrases you think you should change,
But at the end of the thing you know that it ended up exactly where it was supposed to be,
Not too deep and metaphoric to the point where not even you know what's going on,
But still not shallow enough that it becomes a dime a dozen.
But it's really more like playing a game on the hardest difficulty,
That one platforming part where the jump is barely out of your range,
Or you know when you're racing and you're only a hair's breadth behind from taking the lead,
You're so close to winning but you know you need that little extra push to get the job done,
That little extra something, or someone.
Funny how it always comes back to that isn't it,
Finding that one person that makes getting out of bed worthwhile,
Well I mean only if you both aren't in it flying off to Neverland then by all means stay in the cockpit,
Just don't stay in one place, never stop searching and I know you'll find her,
And when you do let me know what it's like,
Because I'm still waiting to find out.
