Virgins
Between the boy and the girl, the girl's dialog is in italics.
Tonight, this brings back the hour,
the mem'ry of a moment when
I came to you as a flower,
mysterious and insular.
I shivered from my first time too,
so special as I laid with you,
of discovering you once more
in ways I never knew before,
as when your eyes devoured me,
so grateful what I gave to thee
both in your hunger and your need
to learn what I was here for,
while even then you knew me well
with all that flesh to see of mine,
you looking in my deep set eyes
were slightly guilty you could tell.
and after, lying with you here,
to understand without the fear,
it was still like a dream to find
till your reality was mine.
This won in the DU competition "Double Poetry".
