Holding hands
I met you for our first date,
I took you by the hand.
We danced until the morning sun,
Blocking out the world.
When we kiss for the first time,
I have butterflies inside.
I hold your hand and pull you close,
And taste those lips, so fine.
As we make love under the moonlight,
I stare into your eyes.
My fingers wrapped in yours,
Our souls become one.
Rushing to the hospital,
Baby on the way,
I give you my hand to hold,
To comfort and to break.
The grandchildren come,
And you're still by my side.
You take my hand so lovingly,
I beam with heartfelt pride.
Everyday I wake up,
And place my hand on yours.
There is no place I'd rather be,
Than in your loving arms.
If I had a choice
To do it all again,
I'd run across the universe,
And take you by the hand.
When I'm on my death bed,
And there isn't much time left,
I'd love to have you by my side,
With your hand in mine.
I took you by the hand.
We danced until the morning sun,
Blocking out the world.
When we kiss for the first time,
I have butterflies inside.
I hold your hand and pull you close,
And taste those lips, so fine.
As we make love under the moonlight,
I stare into your eyes.
My fingers wrapped in yours,
Our souls become one.
Rushing to the hospital,
Baby on the way,
I give you my hand to hold,
To comfort and to break.
The grandchildren come,
And you're still by my side.
You take my hand so lovingly,
I beam with heartfelt pride.
Everyday I wake up,
And place my hand on yours.
There is no place I'd rather be,
Than in your loving arms.
If I had a choice
To do it all again,
I'd run across the universe,
And take you by the hand.
When I'm on my death bed,
And there isn't much time left,
I'd love to have you by my side,
With your hand in mine.
